About Me

Engineer by training, I worked as a systems engineer and retired as a program director managing large domestic and international communications and infrastructure programs for several aerospace companies. Later I joined a non-profit and worked with over 1,000 volunteers yearly to repair homes for low-income people, primarily seniors and struggling families, to make their homes safe and livable.

I have served on nonprofit and homeowner association boards and am currently serving on the Lifelong Learning advisory committee and Town Council Age Friendly committee.

I support local organizations: Lifelong Learning, Shepherdstown Shares, Jefferson County Community Ministries, Shepherdstown Public Library, and others.

Today I live in Shepherdstown with my husband, Steve, and our two pets. Most of our three children and grandchildren are not far away.

Why Do I Want to Serve?

  • To continue the good work keeping Shepherdstown vibrant.
  • To participate in developing a focused approach to pursue small-scale annexation so the Town can better preserve green space leading to Town, to protect the health of the Town Run headwaters, to promote pedestrian safety and walkability in Town, and enhance the vitality of the small business economy in the center of Town. From the Town Comprehensive Plan.
  • To enhance the town infrastructure.
  • To continue my work of the Age Friendly Fall Prevention subcommittee by working with Town to repair tripping and fall hazards for the safety of our community.
  • To expand support of local businesses and bring more businesses to town.
  • To enhance Town and university connections.
